Restoring suspended users

Last updated: July 3, 2026

If you've suspended a member and need to bring them back, here's what you need to know.

Why suspended members still show up

When you suspend a member, Plane doesn't delete them from your workspace. They stay visible in your Members list with a Suspended status. This is intentional. Removing them entirely would orphan any work items, pages, cycles, or modules they created or were assigned to, and that's data you don't want losing its context.

Think of suspension as a soft removal. The person loses access, but their history stays intact.

How to restore a suspended member

To bring a suspended member back, you need to re-invite them using the same email address.

Their previous work, assignments, and contributions will be linked back automatically since Plane recognizes them by email.
