Where to find Epics?
Last updated: July 3, 2026
If you're looking for the Epics tab and can't find it, this is why. We moved Epics from a dedicated surface into Work Item Types, meaning Epic is now a work item type just like Story, Task, or Bug, rather than its own separate tab. Your data is fully intact and the hierarchy is preserved, but the way you access and work with Epics has changed.
Your data is fully intact. All your existing Epics, comments, updates, sub-items, and initiative links carry over automatically. Nothing is lost.
What changed
The dedicated Epics tab no longer exists. Epics now live inside Work Items and are accessed by filtering by Type = Epic. The hierarchy is preserved. Epics still sit at the top and cannot have a parent work item.
This change also unlocks things that weren't possible before:
Epics can now be added to Cycles and Modules
Epics can be embedded in Pages
Initiatives now accept all work item types, not just Epics
How to find your Epics
Go to your project's Work Items
Open Filters and set Type = Epic
Save this as a View and favourite it. It'll pin to your sidebar for quick access, just like the old tab
Still can't find your Epics?
Work Item Types not enabled
If you don't see the Type filter, Work Item Types may not be enabled for your project. Go to Project Settings → Work Item Types and turn it on.
If your Epics aren't showing up after enabling Work Item Types and filtering by Type = Epic, reach out to support and we'll help you sort it out.
