What are the self-hosted instance requirements?

Last updated: June 15, 2026

You don't need much to run Plane self-hosted - a modest server will get you up and running.

Minimum requirements

Hardware:

  • CPU: 2 vCPUs (must be x64/AMD64 or AArch64/ARM64 architecture)

  • RAM: 4 GB (8 GB recommended for better performance)

  • Storage: 20 GB minimum for the application and data

Operating System:

  • Ubuntu

  • Debian

  • CentOS

  • Amazon Linux 2 or Amazon Linux 2023

Recommended for production

If you're running Plane for a team (10+ users) or in a production environment, we recommend:

  • CPU: 4 vCPUs or more

  • RAM: 8 GB minimum (16 GB for teams of 50+)

  • Storage: 50+ GB SSD

  • External database: Postgres and Redis hosted separately (not in containers)

Supported architectures

Plane works on both common CPU types:

  • x64/AMD64 (Intel, AMD processors)

  • AArch64/ARM64 (Apple Silicon, AWS Graviton, etc.)
